A psychological crisis is a life event when a person perceives that a situation is too stressful and in which normal coping mechanisms do not feel like they are enough. Most crisis situations that arise require immediate or same day attention. You do not need a pre-scheduled appointment to see a counselor if you have an urgent, emergency situation.
